Fees and Payment
Psychotherapy fees range from $125-175/hour. Payment is due at time service is rendered. Counseling is a time and financial commitment and at Sunshine State Counseling Center we feel that it is important to collaboratively create a treatment plan. The amount of sessions needed vary based on the client and their needs.
Please note that insurance carriers only cover services that are “medically necessary” which requires a mental health diagnosis to be assigned. A mental health diagnosis will be part of your permanent medical record, and the insurance carrier may request all or part of your mental health record for payment purposes. The insurance carrier also often limits the number of sessions that will be covered, or require pre-authorization for additional visits.
If you are interested in utilizing your insurance coverage, call your insurance carrier to verify your in-network and out-of-network mental health or behavioral health benefits for your particular plan.
Sunshine State Counseling Center is an in-network provider with the following insurance carriers: Tricare, United Health Care, Blue Cross Blue Shield/Florida Blue, Concordia, Staywell, Humana, Aetna, E-4 Health and Managed Care Concepts. As a courtesy, we will verify your benefits as in-network provider. However, your insurance carrier may pay less than the actual bill for the services received including but not limited to co-payments and deductibles. Any services not covered by your insurance carrier will be billed directly to you.
Sunshine State Counseling Center is registered as an out-of-network provider for most insurance carriers not listed above. When using out-of-network benefits, all fees are due at the time of service. You can receive reimbursement from your insurance carrier, if you have out-of-network coverage. As a courtesy, we can provide a statement for you to file with your insurance carrier for out-of-network reimbursement.
Method of Payment
Payment can be made in the form of cash, check (made payable to Sunshine State Counseling Center, LLC), major credit cards: MasterCard, Visa, American Express and Discover.
If your scheduled appointment needs to be canceled, a notice of 24 business hours is required prior to the scheduled appointment day and time or a there will be a charge for the full fee session. In the case of therapist needing to cancel a scheduled appointment, the therapist will notify you by telephone prior to the scheduled session of the cancellation.
Limitations of Service
Our services are scheduled by appointment only. Our hours fluctuate depending on the day and therapist, so please call our office at (239) 495-7722 to find a time that is suitable to your schedule. Sunshine State Counseling Center is not a 24-hour 7-day a week facility. If a crisis occurs after normal business hours or your therapist is not available there is a voicemail option or in emergency circumstances please contact 911.
