Elizabeth Martin

Elizabeth Martin completed her bachelor’s degree in Psychology at FGCU in 2014 and recently earned her Master’s of Arts Degree in Clinical Mental Health Counseling at the same Institution. Elizabeth is a Registered Mental Health Counseling Intern in the state of Florida.

Elizabeth has experience in Southwest Florida providing individual and group psychotherapy to children, adolescents, and adults. Elizabeth has training in Gottman Level 1 couple’s therapy. Elizabeth is also train in Trauma Focus Cognitive Behavioral Therapy using this therapeutic modality to help children experiencing trauma and abuse. Elizabeth has experience helping clients from many diverse cultural backgrounds, and her areas of specialty include but are not limited to low self-esteem/ self-confidence, adjustment disorders, acculturation issues, various mood disorders such as anxiety and depression.

Elizabeth integrates diverse therapeutic modalities maintaining a holistic approach and Client-Centered Therapy. Elizabeth also uses techniques from Solution-Focused Therapy, Cognitive-Behavioral Therapy (CBT) and Acceptance and Commitment Therapy (ACT).

Elizabeth strives to provide her clients with a safe and compassionate environment, in which they feel comfortable expressing their thoughts and emotions. Elizabeth work with her clients to develop treatment plans that are individualized taking into account the client’s needs, culture, and individual preferences. Elizabeth comfortably provides therapy to both English and Spanish speaking clients.

Elizabeth Martin completó su licenciatura en Psicología en FGCU en 2014 y recientemente obtuvo su Maestría en Artes en Consejería Clínica de Salud Mental en la misma Institución. Elizabeth es una pasante de consejería de salud mental registrada en el estado de Florida.

Elizabeth tiene experiencia en el suroeste de Florida brindando psicoterapia individual y grupal a niños, adolescentes y adultos. Elizabeth tiene formación en terapia de pareja Gottman Nivel 1. Elizabeth también está capacitada en Terapia Conductual Cognitiva de Enfoque en Trauma (TFCBT) utilizando esta modalidad terapéutica para ayudar a los niños que experimentan trauma y abuso. Elizabeth tiene experiencia ayudando a clientes de diversos orígenes culturales, y sus áreas de especialidad incluyen, entre otras, baja autoestima / confianza en sí mismo, trastornos de adaptación, problemas de aculturación, diversos trastornos del estado de ánimo como ansiedad y depresión.

Elizabeth integra diversas modalidades terapéuticas manteniendo un enfoque holístico y una Terapia Centrada en el Cliente. Elizabeth también utiliza técnicas de la Terapia Centrada en Soluciones, la Terapia Cognitivo-Conductual (CBT) y la Terapia de Aceptación y Compromiso (ACT).

Elizabeth se esfuerza por brindar a sus clientes un entorno seguro y compasivo, en el que se sientan cómodos al expresar sus pensamientos y emociones. Elizabeth trabaja con sus clientes para desarrollar planes de tratamiento individualizados teniendo en cuenta las necesidades, la cultura y las preferencias individuales del cliente. Elizabeth brinda terapia cómodamente en ingles y español.
