I installed Access for a legacy application, there were problems so I thought these were caused by installing this after Office had been installed. I used octrremove. I have now re-installed and uninstalled Office several times. After re-installing everything is fine except for Outlook – I cannot configure an e-mail connected to my own domain in Outlook – it says SMTP settings are incorrect but they are not. After uninstalling, the item “Mail microsoft outlook ” is still in Control Panel I believe it is meant to be removed , clicking on it says “Application not found”.

Something didn’t go to the end of the Uninstall process and this is now preventing the re-install from working correctly. After repairing Office, check if the issue can be fixed.

From further research on the internet I have found quite a lot of people with bit Office who get the “Application not found” when clicking on “Mail microsoft outlook ” in Control Panel.

This process worked with my Outlook Account but did not work with my own domain account – it insisted that the SMTP settings were wrong and because the process is semi-automated it didn’t end up adding an account at all. CPL to work – this has the account information. This worked and I was able to add an e-mail account with all the correct pop3 and smtp settings and it worked. Happy DAYS!! I then managed to set up my accounts by doing either of Workaround 1 or Workaround 2 which I detailed above instructions copied from help on the internet.

Thursday, February 7, AM. Hi Winnie, Thank you for your reply – I tried it but it didn’t work. Fill in your account email address, click Advanced Options in prompted window for your account, select the box for Let me setup my account manually. Click Connect. Check if it can setup your account or not. Thursday, February 14, AM.
