Elizabeth Martin completed her bachelor’s degree in Psychology at FGCU in 2014 and recently earned her Master’s of Arts Degree in Clinical Mental Health Counseling at the same Institution. Elizabeth is a Registered Mental Health Counseling Intern in the state of Florida.
Elizabeth has experience in Southwest Florida providing individual and group psychotherapy to children, adolescents, and adults. Elizabeth has training in Gottman Level 1 couple’s therapy. Elizabeth is also train in Trauma Focus Cognitive Behavioral Therapy using this therapeutic modality to help children experiencing trauma and abuse. Elizabeth has experience helping clients from many diverse cultural backgrounds, and her areas of specialty include but are not limited to low self-esteem/ self-confidence, adjustment disorders, acculturation issues, various mood disorders such as anxiety and depression.
Elizabeth integrates diverse therapeutic modalities maintaining a holistic approach and Client-Centered Therapy. Elizabeth also uses techniques from Solution-Focused Therapy, Cognitive-Behavioral Therapy (CBT) and Acceptance and Commitment Therapy (ACT).
Elizabeth strives to provide her clients with a safe and compassionate environment, in which they feel comfortable expressing their thoughts and emotions. Elizabeth work with her clients to develop treatment plans that are individualized taking into account the client’s needs, culture, and individual preferences. Elizabeth comfortably provides therapy to both English and Spanish speaking clients.
