Courtney Anderson is a Licensed Mental Health Counselor in the state of Florida. License number MH 23378. Courtney is passionate about helping children, teens, and young adults resolve anxious and depressive feelings that may keep them from living their best life. She believes that even at a young age, we all experience situations that leave us wondering if we will ever be happy again. This can be devastating for the individual experiencing these symptoms and if not addressed early on, it can have long term effects into adult life. As a mental health counselor, she has had the pleasure of helping countless individuals overcome these feelings and get back to living a quality of life that was once unimaginable.
Courtney attended Rider University in New Jersey where she received her Bachelor’s in Psychology. While completing that degree Courtney interned at the Children’s Specialized Hospital in Hamilton, NJ where she interacted with individuals ages 3-18 years of age who suffered from many different mental health issues as well as physical issues. After completing her Bachelor’s, Courtney attending William Paterson University where she received her Master’s in Clinical and Counseling Psychology. While completing that degree, Courtney interned at West Bergen Mental Healthcare where she held individual and group therapy to children and teens suffering from a variety of mental health issues.
Courtney has experience with individuals, children, teenagers, and young adults, who struggle with anxiety, depression, relationship issues, OCD, divorced parents, blended families, stress, low self-esteem/confidence, PTSD, and identity issues. She takes pride in helping her clients understand, process, and change the difficult situations in their lives so they can create a happier, positive, and more fulfilling future. Her ability to meet the client where they are and explore where they want to be is what has helped her be successful over the years. She truly believes that the key to successful therapy is finding the right therapist. The therapeutic relationship is not only the most important part of therapy but one where she holds great pride and passion in. Creating an honest, trustworthy, and healthy therapeutic relationship is the first step in your journey together. After all, your story is important and cannot be told to just anyone. Courtney’s preferred modalities include EMDR (certified EMDRIA approved EMDR therapist), Cognitive Behavior Therapy, Motivational Interviewing, and Play Therapy.
