Ismary Lopez attained her Bachelor’s Degree in Psychology and Master’s degree in Mental Health Counseling from Florida Gulf Coast University in Fort Myers, Florida. Ismary is currently working towards obtaining her Florida clinical licensure and is under the direct supervision of Dr. Warren Goldfarb, PhD, CASAC.

Ismary has experience working with children, adolescents, and adults enduring mental and behavioral health difficulties. Ismary has created and facilitated groups at Sunshine State Counseling Center as well as in the Mental Health Unit at Park Royal Hospital including but not limited to a Parent Support Group for children struggling with Anxiety, and has covered a myriad of topics during groups run at Park Royal Hospital including: Boundaries, Coping Skills, Triggers, Cognitive Behavioral Therapy, Self-Exploration, Stress Management, Identifying Strengths, Types of Communication, and Mindfulness.

Ismary’s areas of specialty are emotional and behavioral challenges, parenting support, difficulty adjusting to new life situations, trauma, mood disorders such as but not limited to depression, anxiety, and bipolar disorder. Ismary also conducts Clinical Hardship Evaluations to individuals and their relatives undergoing stressful immigration processes.

Ismary utilizes multiple therapeutic modalities such as but not limited to: Therapeutic Play Techniques, Cognitive Behavioral Therapy, Client Centered Therapy, and Solution Focused Therapy. Ismary works together with her clients to create goals and provide tools to optimize their inner strengths and skills they already possess in their life. Ismary comfortably provides therapy to English and Spanish speaking clients.
