Monisha Holmes, MSW, earned a Bachelor of Science in Psychology from Lynn University in Boca Raton, FL, and a Master of Science in Social Work from Columbia University. During her undergraduate career, Monisha was invited to Lynn University’s Accelerated Degree Scholars program, which enabled her to graduate with a minor in Biology in three years. While completing her Bachelor of Science degree, Monisha was employed by Lynn University’s Women’s Center and held working relationships with the centers for Multicultural, Religious and Spiritual Life, Health, and Title IX. At Lynn University, Monisha worked closely with professors to develop an advanced understanding of Gender, Sexuality, and Individual Psychology.

After graduating from Lynn University, Monisha attended Columbia University in the City of New York, where she concentrated on Social Enterprise Administration and specialized in Contemporary Social Issues. At Columbia University, Monisha was a clinical intern assigned to aid Russian survivors of the Holocaust in petitioning for reparations from the German Government. She went on to intern for New York’s Department of Education in the Bronx, New York, where she was a Clinical Intern for elementary students facing housing insecurity. Monisha has professional exposure to individuals struggling with addiction, immigrants, children of immigrants (with knowledge of epigenetic factors), geriatric clients, LGBTQ+ individuals, and culturally diverse populations.

Monisha believes healing is possible, and she approaches her practice from a Humanistic psychology perspective. When working with clients Monisha’s preferred modalities are Cognitive Behavioral Therapy, Motivational Interviewing, Play Therapy, Art Therapy, and she is Trauma Informed.
