What should I expect in my first therapy session?

Your first session is an opportunity for us to get to know you and understand your concerns. We’ll discuss your reasons for seeking therapy, your history, and your goals. This is also a chance for you to ask questions and see if our approach feels comfortable for you. The session is confidential and designed to be a safe, supportive space.

Individual therapy sessions typically last 50-60 minutes. Family sessions and couples sessions may run 60-90 minutes depending on your needs. We’ll discuss the appropriate session length during your initial consultation and adjust based on your treatment goals.

Please contact our office with your insurance information, and we’ll verify your coverage and explain any out-of-pocket costs before your first appointment. We also offer self-pay options for those without insurance or who prefer not to use their benefits.

Yes, we offer secure online therapy sessions for individuals and families who prefer the convenience of virtual appointments or are unable to attend in-person sessions. Our telehealth platform is HIPAA-compliant and easy to use from your home or office. We can discuss whether online therapy is appropriate for your needs.
