Karinna Chaluisant

Karinna Chaluisant, MSW  earned her Master of Social Work with a Clinical Concentration from Florida Gulf Coast University. She provides services in both English and Spanish, supporting individuals and families with cultural sensitivity and a strong commitment to accessible care.

Karinna has been working at Sunshine State Counseling Center, where she provides outpatient mental health therapy to children, adolescents, adults, and families. In her role, she treats a range of presenting concerns, including anxiety, depression, behavioral challenges, trauma-related symptoms, and life transitions. She collaborates closely with caregivers and family systems to strengthen communication, enhance relationships, and support emotional and behavioral growth across home, school, and community settings. Karinna is committed to delivering individualized, developmentally appropriate, and evidence-based care that promotes long-term emotional well-being.

Karinna brings a compassionate, client-centered approach to her clinical work, utilizing evidence-based modalities such as Cognitive Behavioral Therapy (CBT), Solution-Focused Therapy, Eye Movement Desensitization and Reprocessing (EMDR), and therapeutic play techniques. Her experience spans multiple settings, including inpatient psychiatric care, outpatient medical services, and therapeutic environments, allowing her to adapt her approach to meet each client’s unique needs.

Karinna believes that therapy is a collaborative process where clients are empowered to explore their experiences, build on their strengths, and move toward meaningful change.
